Finding the right version, proving who had access, and meeting retention or audit requirements becomes slow, manual and risky.

The consequences are business consequences: approvals stall, projects slip, compliance deadlines are missed, and the knowledge held inside documents never becomes part of a business process. Adding another repository does not fix this; connecting content to the processes and the systems that already run the business does.
